Re: ultra gauge... cheaper then scangauge
Well after a day sitting in the sun the velcro mount did not hold up to well.
I took another bracket and drilled the hole out just a tad smaller then the mount it came with. I wedged the ball for the mount in the hole I drilled. I got it set like I wanted it. I then used some plastic glue stuff around the ball.
These were before the glue. Plus side now I can get to the button on the back. It is also stiffer and does not wiggle while going down the road.

Re: ultra gauge... cheaper then scangauge
I tried hooking it up to my wifes vw beetle and it just sat there and scanned. It sat there for 10 minutes.
I had cleared all the saved gauges like it suggested.

Re: ultra gauge... cheaper then scangauge
Installed mine on my 96 ranger xtl, the only issue I had was I had to change the auto recognize mode from the default 2 to one to get it to automatically turn on when the key is turned on...as its an older truck I don't have as many guages, only 37... but thats what ford provided back then via the computer... so I will have to be happy with that...

Is there a reason my unit is not recognizing the fuel sensor? Do i not have one?

Re: ultra gauge... cheaper then scangauge
No fuel sensor in our trucks. You have to manually reset at each fuel up.

i know youve got it resolved but next time try that 3M double sided tape instead of velcro, the stuff holds really well, thats whats holding my SG to the bracket in my truck.

I was going to do that. I had some laying around and drilling a hole through metal seemed more entertaining at the time.

Scott, for the time being I have mine mounted just to the right of the center point of the dash above the gauge cluster. Just attached to the windshield with the suction cup hardware provided. I ran the wire along the gap at the dash and windshield, behind the fuse panel door, and then under the dash to the OBD II. since the wiring at the plug for the OBDII comes out of the right side, and the route of the wire runs left I just took a zip tie and LOOSELY attached it to the little trim piece to keep the wire from dangling.
Working nights at the moment and can't find time to get pics.
Got Myke hopefully sending me a bracket for A pillar placement though.

Re: ultra gauge... cheaper then scangauge
I was just thinking of a way to use the top screw of the A-pillar grab handle and a bendable metal strap. I think that would be perfect

I'm looking around all over the plant for that one little piece of metal. Needle in a freakin' huge haystack. I'm digging the avatar.
