That's what the instructions say too. I was reading their site and found it actual does use power while it's off, I think it said 1 watt (they said 1/60 of a 60 watt light bulb).

Excited to get mine!

Really wish this would be available in metric units like Scangauge is ... MPH is pretty useless here in Canada, and I'd much rather see my MPG fuel gauge in metric gallons so it would be easier to compare with every single other MPG reading in Canada. Sigh.

Just got mine half way installed, and I'm pretty excited about seeing it in action.
For those that are having probs. with it draining the battery this may be part of the prob. The install instructions say to plug the unit in the first time with the ignition in the run position. Possibly if you do the start up with the ignition in the off position it "learns" to operate off the battery all the time instead of while the accessory switch is triggered. Seems far fetched, I'll know by the morning.

Ordered mine last nite.... unfortunately the price is higher now... but it is still way cool... and cheap for what it does.... less than a scanner... as for draining the battery, no way it can do that its all micro ckts. and draws milliamps not amps..... soooo something else must be causing that...anyway timing is very good as my ford odometer just quit....soooo now I have a new one...LOL... will give a report once I get mine.....

it just plugs directly in to your OBD II port under your dash by your hood release

Mount the unit where you want it. Then plug the cord into the OBD port under the dash

I have left mine plugged in now for 3 days straight and had no batt. drainage issue. Anytime the truck is running I have the radar detector, the ultragauge, and the amp on. I've seen no ill effects.
I'm going to try the unsoldering to fish the wires through the dash and put mine just to the R or L of the hump in the dash for the factory cluster. Post up pics for your installs guys.

Got mine today and it is sweet.

I like the ability to 6 gauges up on one screen I just have the important ones to me on the 1st screen.

When the wife gets home I am gonna hook it to her VW
