Thanks! I did look through the manual once already, but I guess its time for a re-read.

Even opening the throttle plate manually, I could only get 87%. So I guess I'm stuck with that. I'm gonna calibrate it soon, hopefully. I've been checking my miles driven on the odometer vs gps a lot recently, so i might just use that calibration (its a whopping 8% off )

Does the 88 have fuel injection, if so you may be able to hook something up, but it would have to be home brew as I do not think there is a generic connection to the computer...The scangauge is designed to work with and OBDII based system... mine is a 96 XLT and is barely OBDII, I don't think it will work with OBDI....If anyone knows of anything else...I would love to hear about it... always ready to learn...

yes it is awesome man. once calibrated of course since the Ranger doesnt have some of the sensors that new car/trucks have. We have 38 gauges. here is my thread about it:

Ultra-Gauge will NOT work with anything pre-OBD2. So anything older than 1995-1996 it wont work for you.

got my UG yesterday! hooked it up but im thinking of putting it somewhere else so you cant see it through the window.

first thoughts:
-its a lot smaller than i thought
-the screen is great at night (not to bright), very visable during the day
-font is really easy to read given the size of the screen
-damn.... really low mpgs haha

my first thought was WTF?! I can't read the screen.
*takes of sunglesses*
Screen is visible. Damn, no polarized sunglasses for me.

Also, my engine runs freaking hot! Like, around 210 under normal operation, when flooring it it gets above 220F.

I have a 96 3.0 liter, even on a hot sunny day down here in Fla... sitting in traffic with the AC on mine rarely gets above 190....with a pressurized system operating with coolant your in no danger of boiling over.... but I think it should run close the the thermostat temp... any comments are appreciated... thanks

From what I've read online, the 2.3l duratecs are designed to run at 208F. In addition, the temp gauge reads off of the cylinder head.

I don't think this applies to the 6 cyl engines though. Considering the intake temperature is 100+ and I'm running AC all the time, I guess 220 at the head isn't horrible.

I received my Ultra Gauge about a week ago and installed it on the upper right hand corner of the wind shield. I did not change any of the default gauges except for the display time, I changed it to 10 seconds, so it cycles through the 3 pages kind of quickly. I need to print out the manual to get all the details and tips. So far I like it and it does show that my speedo is a little off, when I'm going 30 mph on the speedo the Ultra Gauge reads abiut 27 mph.
