Re: ultra gauge... cheaper then scangauge
This may have been asked already, but how accurate is the istant mpg and ave mpg? I ask because on my 4.0L I'm averaging about 19.5 in city and 22.7 on highway (sometimes more). I'm just curious because the est mpg for my model is 16 city and 19 highway.

Re: ultra gauge... cheaper then scangauge
the UG has a lighted screen at all times. It also has a light sensor to adjust brightness accordingly. you can see it fine at night.

Instant is just saying what you mpg is at the moment. It is basically saying if you traveled at this speed continuously that is what kind of gas mileage you would get. The 16 and 19 that you truck is rated at are averages so that is correct. You may see 22mpg alot on instant but you also must consider the mpg it took to get you to 22 which would make your average closer to the 19 your truck us rated at. Have you done the calibration yet?

Which calibration are you talkng about? Driving 100 miles in a single trip? no I have not. if you're talking about a different one, let me know But I was just saying my average is normally around 22.8 or a little less.

Do the distance and mpg calibration. It wont be accurate until you do them especially if you have different tires than factory.
That 22.8 you see on instant can not be considered an average. Selct the.guage that says avg mpg.

Re: ultra gauge... cheaper then scangauge
So to calibrate it, you have to drive a distance of 100 miles?!

Or more. The more distance you travel during calibration the more accurate it will be. Use a gps to get your true miles traveled. You will be surprised how different it is from your trucks odo

Re: ultra gauge... cheaper then scangauge
I think it's probably a little off, I'm hoping not by much though.
