Much nicer looking than the scan gauge and great price. Reading this thread I'm still wondering how actuate it is for fuel mileage? and as well I don't see it being able to display the transmission fluid temp?

I get % of fuel in the tank on my scan gauge is % fuel in tank not the sensor it needs?

Yeah that's a show stopper for me too.

I don't think they thought it would be as popular as it is....maybe they will update the software to do the metric thing as they are loosing lots of sales in Canada.... have any of the Canadians on here asked them if they are going to make that available....capn

It's a pretty new product and I haven't asked but I'd bet they'll have an upgrade for metric in the future.

We use to have standard but that was even more confussing because a Canadian gallon was bigger than a US gal

It still causes a problem because Canadians talk MPG but which gallon? US Gallon is 3.78 litres or Canadian Gallon is 4.55 litres

My truck on the hiway gets 21mpg (US Gal) but in Canada it'd be 25mpg (Cdn Gal)

I bought an Ultra Gauge anyways, even though I'm Canadian. I still like to see M.P.G.'s over litres/100km, even though our Imperial gallons are 20% larger than a US gallon. I just do a quick mental conversion to see my M.P.G.'s. For an average of 17 mpg (US), I know that I'm getting 20.4 mpg (Imp.). If I have a full tank, 19.5 US gallons and my distance before "Empty" is 331.5 miles, I know that I can get 530.4 kilometres. But really, I'm happy if I get 450 kms.

It's fun to watch the M.P.G.'s go up and down as I drive around town. My driving habits are changing thanks to Ultra Gauge.

I found the same... it's amazing how much improvement is available by changes in driving style.

Questions for those who have and use an ultra gauge on a 2.5L I4. I have a question regarding some of the numbers. I just got a 2000 Ranger and have an ultra gauge installed. I have a work box and a small ladder rack in the bed of a base model regular cab 5spd standard. My question is what is some typical gas mileage? On my first fill up I got like 20 MPG using the trip on the truck driving a mixture of highway and stop and go this seems low to me, and was wondering what others were getting. Second when I am driving and monitoring the % engine load I am constantly getting a % of 90 to 98 when I am get on the gas. To me that seems like it is too high.

Next question if you are getting better MPG or % Load what are some of the things that could be the problem? I am putting in injector cleaner as we speak. The truck runs smooth with no leaks.

Have you calibrated it? None of the info you just gave is accurate without calibrating the unit.

I have had my Ultra Gauge for 3 weeks now and have made the following observations:

When my fuel gauge is full, it shows 19.5 gallons (as programmed).
When my fuel gauge is 3/4, it shows 15.5 gallons.
When my fuel gauge is 1/2, it shows 11.5 gallons.
When my fuel gauge is 1/4, it shows 7.5 gallons.
When my fuel gauge is btwn. 1/4 and E, it still shows about 5.6 gallons.

Then, the fuel gauge "warning light" comes on at 4.5 gallons, but the needle is still above Empty. When the needle hits Empty, I still have 4.0 gallons in reserve. Last night, I filled the tank up again with 59.6 litres or 15.7 US gallons on top of my 4 gallons, so 19.7 gallons is pretty accurate. The gauge registers 19.5 gallons.

My daily commute is 30 kilometers (one way) or 18.6 miles, of which 10 miles is highway and the rest is in the city. My gauge has settled out at 17.0 miles per gallon, which is pretty average and what I expected. And it looks like use about 1.1 gallons on my gauge for my one way trip, which does equate for 18.6 miles at 17.0 m.p.g.

I like the Ultra Gauge.
