I think they will be screw on aftermarket, since there will probably be an assortment of
different varieties available. But we will have to wait and see.

( I thought for sure Clinton would be posting here )

if you wanted to disconnect it, couldnt you just cut the wires and put a connector inline somewhere. like have it where the connector is molded into the trim and you just plug and unplug it there and take it with you

yeah I was wondering the same things, and suprised that people ended up like it better than the scangauge and being cheaper but liek everyone here agrees, kinda worried about the battery issue some are getting and not being able to mount it around good and disconnect. anyone resolved any of the issues yet

I have not had a battery issue , I think that prob. is do to plugging in the scan tool before having the key in the "ON" position first then plug in the scan guage.

but yeah it's hard to keep it mounted when it is so hot outside

I have had mine plugged in for over a week.... never had a problem with the Ford, just the old Lexus.... according to UG the problem with the Lexus is that it is a 95 and not totally compatible with the OBDII protocol...anyway since then I have not left it plugged into the Lexus....also the little tab on the connector was a major PIA, so I used a small pair of dikes to snip it on both sides, this made it easier to get it unplugged.... the friction between the plug and the socket seems to be more than sufficient to hold it in place. Can't beat the deal....

Does this ultragauge also read OBD II codes? Like when you get the CEL.

thats exactly what i was thinking of doing if i get one. with spade connectors or something. but man its still ridiculous to even have to deal with this in the first place

I have a question on this Ultra Gauge. Since we don't that fuel detection thing, how does this thing work on the fuel subject? How do I know how big my fuel tank is? Reason I ask is because my needle on my fuel gauge on my cluster is not positioned right so when I get a full tank, the needle is well over the Full line lol. So I just wanted to know if this Ultra Gauge will tell you how much gas you have and if it reduces when you drive. If so, I'm definitely buying . Thank you.

All our gauges are like that.
For the UG, you basically hold the top button down and tell it you just filled the tank.
It's a bit optimistic on fuel used. I noticed I use about 1.5-2 gallons more than it thinks. I calculate fuel mileage every time I fill up anyway, the UG is usually about .5-1 mpg more than actual. Other than that I love it.

I couldn't really find where it's at. I have an 02 extended cab. I think I have the 6' bed Because I'm 5'8'' and it's not shorter or longer; i can almost touch the end of the tailgate but not fully so yeah 6'.
