I'm wondering what I can do to improve my ride comfort.
here's what I have:
-'08 base model
-52K miles
-stock suspension
-Firestone destination LE tires on the front end
-bugdet tires on the back end.
-Bed Cap that adds weight to the back.

Get some quality shocks

Bilstein 5100 series are awesome.

anyone else know a good shock? or ride comfort solution?
generally my ride is pretty good. Until I hit a pothole then it sounds like the top of a dumpster slamming closed..

Tires help a lot in that department

I find the Goodyear Wrangler GS-A that were originally on my truck cussioned a lot of the bumps and cracks on the road, the shocks are a bit stiff, and it shows more so with my new tires.

Of course, comfort usually means you're sacrificing performance, and offroad capabilities.

I have pretty good tires on the front end, Destination Le.. on the rear axle I have two budget tires. But I would think with the comfort ratings with the Destination Le on the front end, that I would be covered in that department..

It rode rough after the t-bar crank and it is nice and smooth over the bumps now.

how much did that cost you to replace the shocks all together??

Shocks are a huge difference for sure. Bilsteins are great, you wont be disappointed!

They were like 60-80 bucks each and installed my self

You will need to find the ones with 0-1" lift

They make them for people that have 4-6" of lift from a suspension lift

To try and cut costs.. do you think it would be wise to just install two new shocks on the front end?

You could replace the fronts and see if it helps, but with t-bars, your ride is never going to be real plush. The Bilstein's are smooth, but it is not going to be a miracle cure for the harshness.

what exactly do you mean by the T-bars? aren't they only in the back? So are you saying I should replace the back shocks too?

you do make a generally good point.. I would rather not spend the money if it wont take away the big pot hole "bangs".. cause like I said. I have an otherwise smooth ride.

Torsion bars are in the front. Dont worry you dont have them
