I finished talking to the dealership I baught my truck from and they say the Ranger is dead and the Sport Trac is dead aswell. Since Ford is redoing the Exploerers chasis .

Dealerships don't get secret insider information like that. Dealerships have been repeating rumors to customers for years. All they know are the same rumors everyone else knows.

It's been about 5 years straight that blogs have been posting "this is the last year of the Ranger" and if you look around you will see for about 5 years straight that Ford dealerships have been telling people "this is the last year of the Ranger." Yet, oddly enough, Ford has never announced any plans to change or discontinue the Ranger... and as well all know, for the past 5 years or so the Ranger has kept on ticking.

So in conclusion, dealerships are not a good source of information.

A redesign could be a good thing. So long as it doesn't look like crap. Although I wish it could stay the same.

IMO, New Explorer looks like a CR-V. The T6 seen around doesn't look too good.

If Chevy is killing the Colorado after 2012 and Nissan has no plans to re design the frontier pickup i don't see why ford would bring anything 4 door ranger sized here.

Especially since the f150 will get exactly the same size fuel mileage than the ranger, once the ecoboost finds a home in that chassis.

if you want a trail truck buy a jeep or the billion or so used rangers out there.

I think an F100 would be pretty damn catchy and profitable for them if they did it. Especially if what limE is saying is true. A new F100 would be so much more marketable than a new Ranger and they could sell the shit out of it if they actually made it look good and gave it some next-gen powerplants. (I say base the front end off of the Sport Trac Adrenamine)

This doesnt look bad either

But they wont, cuz theyre too obsessed with shoving their fullsizes down everyone's throats regardless of whether or not they need a fullsize. They should be pimping a new midsize alongside the fullsizes and marketing them as 'the new ford trucks' like they used to in the late 90's

Four door small trucks are useless in my opinion. A four foot bed doesn't hold much.

I've seen the European Rangers in person and the only thing they have going for them is the diesel engine under the hood.

I've hauled (on different times, not at the same time) a whole living room set, two dozer tires, 1000 lbs of dirt, as well as other stuff on my truck. It held up pretty good. It is just a matter of the use you are gonna give to it. I need the open space of a truck bed because I use my truck for lots of things.

But I need a vehicle with enough room for 5 people. Last week my coworkers and I went to a food place in my truck. We were 7 people on my little crewcab Ranger. Good thing I have 60/40 seats.

yea my dream truck still is a 05+ tacoma with the 4doors and 5.5' bed lifted 3-4"
