Default water crossing??

hey guys i haven't posted in sometime but im going to head upstate NY to go camping for a week.. i found a great lake to go camping... the best part is no yuppies can get there b.c they cant get there Subaru and Saab's through the road b.c its flooded out... well my question is do you think my 98 mazda b2500 2wd get through?? i the water is only 18'' and its hard rock no mud.the water line will be under my front bumper i have driven through water higher then that but im just curses to find out what u guys think.. im going to bring a come along and my dad will be there with his F150

heres a pic, i was going to walk in the water first make sure theirs no ruts or soft spots

timing belt and water pump at 136,000
Brakes and Tires and that's about it.
and every 2 years a DPFE sensor

7" Jensen flip out (VM9213)
Two 12.2 sun visor monitors modded to work with OEM brackets
pioneer 6x8 speakers all the way around
single 8" bazooka tube with a 500 Farad capacitor

Id go for it.

Especially if there is gonna be some one there that can help you out. Just make sure it will be below the headlights. you dont wanna suck any water up into the intake

go for it make sure alot of weight is in the bed and u will be fine and that is a beautiful pic should be in pic of the day or a contest lol

As long as you have a buddy and do a good scouting of the planned course, I say go for it. X2 on the weight in the bed thing. What kind of axle do you have? Limited slip? If so, even better!

you dont need limited slip...ride the brakes if you need to lock up the rear.

water crossings are fun. just take it slow and easy. water isnt something you need to smash through 90% of the time.

go for it especially if its only 18" you shouldn't have a prob just put some weight in the bed, go slow, and don't stop!

That's why I said even better. I've seen some vehicles with open differentials do some pretty impressive stuff. I've even seen them out perform the vehicle with lockers and such. The driver and his knowledge makes a world of difference.

I learned this that hard way at the sand dunes water and sand got into my tps sensor and made my engine throw 7 codes lol
