Re: 2010 Base Mustang Vs. 2004 Ford Ranger 0-100
I guarantee that everyone here has had their ranger to the max speed at some point. Even those here commenting on here. Driving reckless and fast period is dangerous. I run heavy machinery all day long, been driving for a good bit to. I haven't gotten one ticket, killed no one, nor been any accidents, and I am 30 years old. I didn't come here to start trouble. If someone got in accident because of my short lived racing escapade then that is on me. I'd have to live with that, not you guys.
Battering me for racing on a public road isn't making you look any better because I don't care how many times on here you tell me you've never done the same thing, or even got on your ranger and got it above the posted speed limit. Anytime you've done that you've broke the law, and regardless of if you were racing or not, it doesn't make it right when you do it either.
Since day one of coming here - I've seen several new people get bashed and battered for posting up what they have to say on a forum that is suppose to be public, and free. I liked this forum and the helpful information on it. I however do not believe that you should sit here and bash someone.... edgeman had to put his two sense in, on another thread involving what an individual had as their head lights, and was pretty harsh I believe he even called the guy an idiot. I've seen a picture of a edgeman I believe, and If I looked like that I wouldn't be calling people an idiot, well I guess on here you can say what you want, and pretend to be who you want, but still.
Just saying theres some cool members here, and then there is some uncool members. STL I have no problem with you. I get it, you feel like what I did was unsafe, and I shouldn't have done it right? Can we all agree that what I did was wrong? Ok I am sorry I had a street race that I am sure millions of people do every day, if you even wanna call it a street race.
I take it back about the wrecks I had some idiot come around a corner on a crotch rocket and slam into the side of my old F350. His fault I was sitting still, in a drive way. I have a picture of it, if anyone would like to see what it looks like when a super duty eats a motorcycle.
Anyway! I am just saying lets be a bit more friendly. I would like to stay, and maybe even become a contributor. I've got enough money to have a new truck, but I have kept my Ranger, which started out as a gas saver for when I was driving long distances to do bids on jobs to my company. I could of sold it, but I fell in love with it. It is a nice compact truck, and it is awesome. I was inspired to keep it even more after coming here. Apologies for "street racing" can't say I won't ever brake the law again, but I will take it to Windy Hollow before I street race, or else just not post up everything I do on here, not that anyone seems to wanna believe it to be true anyway.

I call bs.....mustang driver must of not known his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to "racing"
as for getting flamed about the activityof illegal racing...well, what do you expect...post up illegal activties and those that feel it shouldn't be done will say something....as it DOES effect other car lovers....why do you think cops pay extra attention to ricers, sport bike riders..custom built cars...because asshats must take their cars out and race on the streets......simple enough, don't like it TS...don't post up about doing stupid things and you won't be called stupid......Have a good Day

Re: 2010 Base Mustang Vs. 2004 Ford Ranger 0-100
This is actually a great site with great people, we just dont condone street racing of any sorts. There is a difference between speeding and racing as well. So dont let this single thread reflect a whole site. Its just the internet.
As for the "not that anyone will pay attention to this thread like the others", man I've had plenty of threads people didnt read or that didnt get much attention, it doesnt matter. Also, if you notice, the more you use the site, the more we get to know you the more we respond.
Most if not all of these guys have never met me, seen me or physically talked to me, yet they "know" me. All you have to do is say my username, and they can tell you my name, what year/color/mods i have done to my truck, my cleaning habits, my truck likes/dislikes, my fiance's name and stuff, its a great community. heck I even have most of these guys on my phone that I text or on my facebook. Its a great community and you could not ask for more. But as you can tell there are certain things we dont like, street racing is one of them.
Had this been at a track, we would have applauded you.

well said scott, whos fiance's name is sarah, washes his truck every other day, makes granite monuments......ect ect. lol
on a more serious note though, i will agree with chris to an extent that everyone at one point has broken the speed limit, passed without signaling ect BUT the difference is that we dont come on here and brag about it to try and score cool points. street racing is not the same as simply going over the speed limit either, its wreckless, inconsiderate to the other vehicles around you, its stupid and dangerous. if you dont want to be flamed dont post about it here.

Re: 2010 Base Mustang Vs. 2004 Ford Ranger 0-100
I saw once before on the news. Cops and Sheriffs dept. were following along on car/truck forums looking for illegal activity.
I am not saying there are police searching this site. However I am sure Chris is your real name. They would then know you drive a white 2004 ford ranger 4x4 with no muffler and your location is Henderson KY.
Just saying it is the internet and a FREE public site. Anyone can be on here.
I also in a matter of 5 minutes found in the thread 4.0L 2004 88k miles loss of power? you posted a picture containing your VIN
Even better you posted up a video and it shows your license plate.

Re: 2010 Base Mustang Vs. 2004 Ford Ranger 0-100
Yeah they do. I made a silly choice, however I was a little pissed off to begin with. I stated he had been following me very close, to the point I didn't know what the hell was going on.
I am not lieing about it. I just know that when I hit 100 I let off, I wasn't really paying attention to the speed until I let off and it was coming down. It was from a dead stop. He did pass me when I let off, and I am sure if I had kept going he'd of passed me the 4.0 my girl has will go over 112. However I am just saying it seems like it was a little uncalled for, I didn't mean nothing by it.
I am not this guy whom goes out every day and races his ranger. I've raced a buddy with a Grand Am GT, and this car. I can't say I really enjoy racing, as I am more of an off road guy myself.
If the sheriff dept or city cops come find me from this forum, that is fine to. I'd be glad to do any punishment for my crime. I however just like to have fun. I've done some illegal things with firecrackers, fireworks. I now have a class B licenses to shoot the big stuff off. That is just who I am. I like to have fun. I don't drank any type of alcohol, and I have never done drugs. I will say I've done far more things that are far worse. This would of been my first speeding ticket had I got one, and I'd of probably got a slap on the wrist, and got off with going to driving school, and a few points lost. I wasn't bragging, I was more kind of curious as to what is so different from a stang and my truck, and how is it I won?
One ought to be able to post their activities. I bet there is several people here posting up those mudding videos, and pictures. How many of you are trespassing when you're out there doing that stuff? Thats illegal, and can be dangerous to if you're not familiar with the area. I know a game warden very good in this area. Hes a good friend of mine. Its a pretty hefty fine to be out on farm land tearing up it up, let alone someones private ground, and in this state there doesn't have to be signs posted up, if it ain't your ground, and there is not a sign that says "go mud here" then its probably not going to be legal to be there. I'll shut up and go on with my life though, and again I really like these forums. Very informative, and a nice community of guys who love their trucks.
Sorry Edgeman for taking you down so much, but you are a little aggressive. I've seen several post where you are quick to knock people. It was no surprise that you came here and used some of the same smart remarks. Honestly a good suggestion is, there needs to be a flame wars section, if people are going to "flame" others on the forum. It goes without saying, I know what I did was illegal, but I didn't think it was a crime sharing what the little ranger could do, as you guys said, its was another "ranger story" lets chalk that up to that. It did happen, but we'll go with the "ranger story" hows that?
STL, I could walk up to a cop right now. Tell him I was street racing, without proof it means nothing. I ain't ashamed of my vin of licenses plate. I don't hide who I am.

Re: 2010 Base Mustang Vs. 2004 Ford Ranger 0-100
Just my 2 cents worth. If I wanted a vehicle as a "go fast" machine, I wouldn't have bought a Ranger. I don't condone street racing as I have also seen many people get hurt by wanna be speed racers. Like other have said, take it to a track and have all the fun you want. Just don't put me or any of my loved ones in danger by driving stupidly on the street. Even if someone is following you too closely there are much better and more mature ways to handle the situation. You made the wrong decision and then chose to brag about it.

Re: 2010 Base Mustang Vs. 2004 Ford Ranger 0-100
I don't agree with street racing, for the most part, but if the circumstances are just right, I guess it could be worth the chance. I used to take some dumb chances, but within the last 3 or 4 years I never really do. I've only street raced my Mazda6 3 times in the over 2 years I've owned it. The best was against an old 67 Camaro that I ate up. The 4.0 is a piece of shit, my old focus zx3 would eat them up.
