Hello all, yesterday I drove a 2021 Ranger 4 door fx4 xlt and then a Lariat. I liked a lot about the new to The States Rangers. I was test driving with intent to bring one home. The problem is every time I got in or out of both models I hit my head unless I bent, twisted and tweeked. Not fun at all, after a few stops getting in and out I would either have neck issues or a swollen bump on my noggin... I adjust the seats all the way down and back, even reclined them. One seat was power in the Lariat and then manual in the xlt. No change. I am not tall, about five ten or eleven. If anything I am normally too fat!
In my 05 Ranger I have zero issue getting in or out, even in a hurry. The roof line just seems lower in proportion to seat height in the new ones. Any ideas or tips on a fix?
I have been dreaming of a new 4x4 Ranger for a long time, going over options and prices, picking out all the after market stuff etc. I got a fair offer also. Any help would be great. Thanks

It's a new vehicle, you've likely become acclimated to getting in and out of your current truck via muscle memory for so long. Although the new body has a bit of a more swept back window, so would be the front A-pillars.

Had the same issue with going back and forth between our 3rd Gen Ranger and our 2020 Tacoma.

Ditto.... probably so used to more upright windshields than these modern swept back windshield equipped vehicles have. I'm about the same height and feel very much so right at home in these 19+ Ranges...they're perfect sized for me. Butt to noggin top height is definitely taller on these new ones than the ancient dinky '11 and older ones have, like yours, like mine.

I think this boils down to getting used to the truck and the new-to-you greenhouse these trucks have.

Have you tried a Tacoma? They're worse in not feeling truck-like and feeling more soccermom suv to me.

So true, for several years I have just popped into the older Ranger without a thought. After several attempts and test driving another I found a new strategy, head and leg in first. No issue after that! I really like the new rangers now that I can get in!
I did ride in a ToyTaco, recently. It felt like I was the 20th clown getting in a phone booth... way too small inside for my amount of ballast lol.

The problems with a Tojocoma are dealers won't cut you a fair deal and thieves like to steal them, so insurance rates are high.
The access cabs can only seat young children in the back seats.
