Plastic Tail Gate handles...grr
So I went to go load my bike and my Dad's bike in the truck yesterday. I have a tail gate lock (do not get one unless you get an electric one, they keyed ones are horrible) so I always have a little trouble opening the tail gate whether locked or unlocked, so I usually have to give a good pull, well I guess after so many pulls the plastic finally gave out on me and snap. Would not have been a big deal if it weren't for having a shell on my truck so had to pull the shell real quick take out the bedrug and get goin. Bought a metal tailgate handle today, so hopefully have that sometime next week and not have to worry about this crap ever again. Also taking off that pop-n-lock crap. Well there is my rant for the day. Upgrade your crappy plastic handle before its too late!

It could have been designed a lot better. It only latches one side of the handle so one side still pulls up really easily. If you have power locks you can get an electric one, they are really nice.

I got the key pop lock and I have never had trouble with it (knock on wood)
I wanna get a electric one but dunno if it will work with my aftermarket power locks

Should work, it would work just like a 3rd door. Run a power wire to the actuator and ground, and BAM!

Little thread necrophilia here, but my cheap-ass plastic handle just broke off too. I guess seven years of SC sunshine wore it out, because when I looked closer the surface was grey instead of black and looked like driftwood.
Guess I'm in the market for a power lock one too......

The power lock should work with a metal handle (if you decide to replace the broken with a metal one)...but not 100%.
