Default How much can you haul?

I had to move a buddy out of his condo the other day, because his truck was in the shop. I had a small uhaul and the bed of the truck LOADED down. It pulled like a champ for a small truck. So I was wondering whats the biggest things yall haul with your rangers? Also, what motor do you have?

One of the first things I did to my Ranger was put add-a-leaf springs on it. I have yet to haul anything heavy, but wanted to make sure that when I did I would have the springs stiffened up. Did affect the ride some, but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

I am always curious to hear what everyone carries, pulls, etc.

moved my neice from Redding CA. up here. had the bed of the Ranger and a 5x8ft trailer stuffed. Both 4 to 5 ft high. Dont know how much it weighed but it wasnt light. The 4.0 pulled it just fine. The bummer was the IAC went out on the way down and killed the milage on the way back. Like 5 to 15 MPG killed.

Yes it was worth it very much cause i was afraid of break the leaf springs but they held up good it didnt even squate that much the 4.0 didnt even have trouble with the load i did it 4 times within an hour and it ran good and the person i bought the mulch and dirt from was very surprised that my little truck could haul almost as much as his truck could

ive hauled all kinds of crap with my ranger. the heaviest was a 22 foot cabin cruiser boat that weighed around 5400 pounds. other than that ive pulled my buddys 21 foot travel trailer a few times and i hauled my 6x12 enclosed trailer loaded down quite often.

It also amazing how quickly you get up to that weight limit with mulch, dirt and gravel. It's sad how little is actually there after it gets loaded.

years ago we had a 92 ranger sport 4X2 4.0 auto. I helped a friend out by driving about 200 miles into canada to bring a generator back down to saline MI. the generator was a 4 cyl diesel type, they needed a big hilo to lift it so I would say it was HEAVY
