Default Ranger 3.2 Slave Cylinder location

Afternoon,

I have a Ford Ranger 2015 3.2 vehicle. It seems that my slave cylinder is faulty, but I cannot see it. Can anybody confirm where it is located, I think I will have to take out the gearbox but obviously I dont want to do that just to see it is also not located there.

Tx in advance for assistance.

Follow the clutch master cyl. line down to the transmission bellhousing, if it goes through, then the slave is inside, and the trans has to be dropped to replaced. The slave can be bled though, might try that first, make sure the master reservoir is full first.

More than likely, it's in the bell housing and will look something like this:

The way I understand it, when the clutch needs to be bleed, you have to bench bleed it because of a poor design in line routing.

This is why when I replaced the clutch on my '95, I opted to not even replace the slave cylinder. I wouldn't usually replace the slave cylinder unless it were leaking. But another fun Ford trick was to make the throw out bearing integral with the slave cylinder.

So for this design, swing and a miss Ford.

You can bleed the whole system in about 2 mins with it all on the truck if you take the master off the clutch pedal and flip it upside down.

Crack bleeder, push in by hand, close bleeder (you need a friend to help) fill reservoir, repeat 3 times.
