My son has a 2000 Ranger XLT 4.0 4x4 that will not start sometimes without any warning. Everything powers up and it will not even turnover sometimes. We have changed the starter as we thought it a starter solenoid going bad, but that is not it. Any help on what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated.

Check all the fuses and relays. It could be the ignition switch is worn out.

If it's an automatic, check the neutral safety switch. If it's a manual, check clutch safety switch.
