Can a 2.3L Motor from a 2003 Ranger with 5R55E transmission be installed in a 2000 Ranger and bolt up to a 4R44E transmission? I'm only changing the motor and keeping the 4R44E transmission and computer. I assume the transmission doesn't care which motor powers it.
The A/Cs are on opposite sides of the motors. Will the 2.3L motor drop in and make up to the motor mounts and bolt up to the 4R44E transmission?

I bought a 2004 Ranger 4x4 with a 4.0 but the engine is seized and I'm looking to put a new motor in it could someone please tell me which years would fit? I found a 4.0 out of a 2011 would that work?
