I never cross rotate tires. I've seen too many tires with slipped belts so I do anything I can to avoid it. In my mind, reversing the rotation of a tire is asking for trouble, especially if you ever haul or tow large, heavy loads.
My father has always been a guru at getting the maximum life from his tires and all of his tricks just plain work, so I do what he's always done for the last 55 years. No point in doing anything any differently.
