Default 95 future issues

I have a 95 5 speed, 4 cyl, with 188K miles. I've never had an engine problem but I just lost the hydraulic slave cyl for the second time. Repair for the clutch, new main seal, etc will be around $800. My wife is after me to junk the truck and buy something that "won't leave me stranded". So my question is what has been your experience with major engine problems once the ranger gets around 200K miles? Anything that I should especially expect? I've changed the oil every 5,000 miles since I've had it and other that the paint starting to look ugly, I love my truck.

I’d change to full syn oil every 3k miles. If eng is running good, frame and body will pass inspection then it’s worth it.

I don't think anyone is ignorant enough to change synthetic oil every 3000 miles.

Those 2.3L engines are extremely durable. Make sure the fluids look clean and just drive it. Anything can break at any time in a 25 year old truck. Just drive it.

Don't put synthetic in it. The seals will start leaking as they were not designed for it.

I’ve driven well over 200k miles with 5 vehicles all starting with varying mileages ending over 200k ea. Using full syn high mileage oil Every 3k with zero eng issues. I guess I will stick to being ignorant.
