Default Why won’t this error code ever go away?

The P1000 error code has been showing ever since I replaced my PCM. I thought it would eventually go away but I can’t seem to clear it. Any advice?

It's not a DTC or error code, its the I/M readiness. It just means that all the on board tests have not completed yet. It can't be erased or cleared, it will go away when all the on board test criteria is met. Ignore it.

Wow. Ok. I wonder why it’s taking so long. I don’t drive my truck very much cuz I have a work vehicle but it’s been over a year now and it’s still not gone away. If it isn’t hurting anything I won’t worry about it.

It may be showing that code constantly because it's relating to the current drive cycle when you scan it. There is a continuous readiness and a readiness for the current drive cycle. Its not uncommon for the current drive cycle readiness to never complete.
