Default Aftermarket Parts/GK Industries

Hey all, new user here. 2008 4x2 3.0L automatic Ranger 171,000km. Had it 2 years, love it!

I'm looking to buy all my filters online and in bulk to get a better discount, want some feedback on GK Industries products. I could go with WIX for more $, a proven brand, but want to know if the GK Industries stuff performs just as well.

Looking at air filter, fuel filter, transmission filter (RWD) and oil filters. Here's the link to the page showing all the filters for my truck: http://www.hotspotautoparts.com/Shop...%20PCV&mode=PA

I bought this as a cheap option to haul my tools and dirt bikes so want to keep maintenance costs as cheap as possible. I feel like the cheaper products will perform just fine, as I will be changing them out on schedule, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

I’m not saying anything by this statement but I had a 09 focus and I used motor craft filters all it’s life, my wife bought a fram filter for it for its next oil change, the car would not run correctly. It would spudder and shut off. I went back for another filter, bought motorcraft, no issues. At the time my brother was a service writer at a Lincoln dealer, he told me to use OEM filters when possible because they get cars in all the time with that issue with aftermarket filters that for whatever reason cause those problems. So I stick with motorcraft. This is just me sharing my story. Side note... motorcraft oil used to be my go to, but a few Independent tests showed penzoil oil burns cleaner, so penzoil platinum for me.

Thanks for your reply. I used to go to economy lube, I know they use crap oil filters and never had an issue, have a Canadian tire Motomaster filter currently. Who knows how well it works compared to stock though

I use Motorcraft semisynthetic oil, and Fram oil filter. Change oil every 3K and the filter every 6k. I do this will all my cars and something similar with my motorcycle and never a problem with any of them. All vehicles are high mileage vehicles. One thing that is way oversold is oil filter technology as they have not changed all that much over the years. Quality control is a bigger issue. Keeping the oil fresh is a better approach.
