Default Sounds like a rock stuck in my tire... but no rock! Other sources?

2000 2wd Ranger. Recently had new tires put on, and since them have had them rebalanced and one replaced (faulty tire was out 12 ounces). Drove with the window down for the first time in a while and noticed a sound like there was a rock in my tire... kind of a clicking? Sounds like it's coming from the tire that just got replaced, but hard to say for sure. Only happens when I get above 25-30, and is in rhythm with tire rotation. Stops when braking. Checked the brakes, but couldn't see anything obvious. That being said, I'm not as familiar with drum brakes. Did I miss something? Any other potential sources? There was no play to indicate wheel bearings, PSI is good, I don't know what else to check.

Thanks!

clean the drums really really really well and look for a hairline crack. On my wife's car, there was a clicking noise just like you described, it was a crack that developed between the hub surface and the braking surface.

i guess the same thing could happen with the rotors, but i've never had one crack on me. either way, might be a good time to do a whole brake system rebuild since you've got it all apart! your almost half way there now lol

Check to make sure there is nothing that might be touching the driveshaft. Sounds can echo around underneath a vehicle.

oh hey check for that little spring that goes across the bottom of the drum brake assembly. i see it on the one pic, but not on the other one... mine broke apart as I was removing it to install a new hardware kit

Did they replace valve stems or do any plugs on the tires? Sometimes even a old hook off the back of the balancing weights can break off and fall inside the tire if they reset the bead.

Sounds like a loose tire weight, check to make sure they are all crimped on tight...
