Truck is a 2006 3.0. with 60k miles.

I checked the oil in July-thin and heavy gas smell. So I had a local garage clean the injection system and change the oil on July23. Checked oil today. Not overly thin or discolored but has a (fainter) gas smell.

All the driving is short trips of 20 minutes or less. Only about 150 miles a month. Don't know if that has anything to do with this.

A faint gas smell is normal after a couple hundred miles, thats just what gets past the rings. You probably had an injector leaking a little while it wasn't running and the cleaning fixed it.

Take it out once a week or two weeks for around 30-40 miles at high way speeds.
