Parked next to an F150 today and noticed how really big those things are. Twice the size of the 09 Ranger. I hope the new Ranger is more like the 09 Ranger than the F150.

I dont see a point making a ranger thats not a small pickup. If they make it bigger then the original then why not just buy the f150... I have a feeling the 2019 ranger will show big initial sales and then turn out to be a flop when people get over the initial nostalgia and realize they are just buying a rebranded slightly smaller f series.

And the tacoma hasn't been close to a compact pickup in 2 decades...

I can see the new Ranger suffer from initial sales euphoria and dropping off again. The only thing that will keep it in demand is a significant price difference from the F150. Gas mileage on my 09 is not too different from the F series, so price has to be the key to sales success.

The price is gonna be insane considering they are only offering it as a quad cab. There wont be a budget bar bones fleet option like the original ranger. My 09 was less than 14k brand new, the base 09 f-150 was around 23k so my decision to get the ranger was easy since I just needed a basic small work truck. The new base F150 is around 26 and there is ZERO chance the 2019 ranger will have the same price gap from the f150 as it did in 09.

You can build and price the new Ranger right now on Ford's website. The base F150 is very base. The base Ranger will not be as spartan. Base F150 is a regular cab, the Ranger won't have a regular cab option. Base to base there is a $3400 difference. Plenty of up to both.

I saw a few around the Ann Arbor Mi area yesterday, they aren't small, but the one I built and priced came to about 36k (ex cab, xl, FX4, keypad entry, and a few other small things) but given right now it has 1 engine option, I don't think it'll do to well until it has more than a 4 banger option

The front clip of the 2018 Tacomas are FUGLY and the fuel economy is pathetic.........my 2015 F150 with the base V6 engine gets better fuel economy than the 2.7L 4 banger.

Is it just me or are all the trucks starting to just blend together... Toyota, dodge, and ford all look like the same guy designed them. I was always a dodge truck fan back in the 80's and 90's. I still love and drive my 89 ramcharger. I loved the style of the 94 dodges when they went to the lower fenders and higher hood. Now... They all just look like generic computer generated trucks. Nothing is really distinctive or original. The new ranger just looks like a quad cab toyota. If your gonna bring a iconic truck back from the dead why make it the same as every other truck...

F150 has very LOW front bumper clearance with that black plastic JUNK.

New TACOMA with the AC drip drain hose mod and youre good to go. Dont even need to lift it as it does not have a huge ass up nose down syndrome as an F150.

The new Ranger looks like a crap version of the Tacoma, and all the Ford vehicles have the same front end design. The best part is they don’t even care; and why would they when people continue to buy their crap?

Why don't you buy a Tacoma.....oh wait, you would need some cash to do that. Some people actually use their trucks for work and not running over stumps in the woods.
It takes all but 15 minutes to remove the "black plstic junk".
