The cause of many deaths
Nearly 40 000 people die in road crashes each year in the USA. 10 the most common of car accidents:
- Distracted Driving
- Drunk Driving
- Speeding
- Reckless Driving
- Running Red Lights
- Running Stop Signs
- Teenage Drivers
- Ice
- Snow
- Brakes malfunctions
A failure to properly maintain the brake system of a passenger car can result in deadly crash. When it comes to SUVs or trucks the death toll can be a 3-digit number. Brake malfunctions are one of the most dangerous types of mechanical errors. Check your brakes during the Brake Safety Week that is scheduled for September 16 — 22. It is your duty to keep your vehicle in reasonably safe condition.
Best wishes! Drive safe

Re: The cause of many deaths
We should BAN Trucks and SUV's.. Or maybe regulate their speed by weight.. So the family in the 9000lb Excursion has a top speed of 23MPH and the likes of someone in say a SMART car or a mid 90s Miata or Civic would have a cruising speed of 117MPH..... Now thats progressive thought processes

Re: The cause of many deaths
Brakes and steering components are the most important in any car. I have had the steering shaft come apart on the racecar. Scary as I smacked the wall!
However, I do see a lot, and I mean a whole LOT of people talking or texting on their cell phones while driving. It's illegal in this state but that doesn't seem to help one bit. Why do people do this? I have even seen people on tablets and laptops!

Wow someone just added politics to the thread. I guess it's all the liberals in the FBI, CIA, and justice dept's fault. LOL

Since you live in Florida....let's also add drunk illegal aliens, and idiots who have watched too much fast and furious. Just be careful since 25-30% of Florida drivers don't have insurance.
If law enforcement were allowed to profile, Florida would be quite a bit safer.....screw the ACLU!

Careful what you wish for.. Everyone always says "I wish they would just let so-in-so do what they needed to do so they could get the job done... Yea, thats great until the shoes on the other foot and or your guy/gal isnt the one in control or power...
Now I am all for people being held accountable and or responsible for their actions. But unfortunately no one is gonna remove a billion dollar a month fraudulent industry in hopes the better American society will appear and everyone will now be courteous and respectful drivers.

Re: The cause of many deaths
I was more anti-Hillary than Pro-Trump however..
I like some of what he has done in some business sense, but while you're not paying attention he says and does a LOT of dumb shit too.
And Wall Street is a HORRIBLE gauge to benchmark the economy and truly shows you don't full understand currency and the flow of it in banking let alone business aspects.. no offense. If you dont have a clue what fractional reserve lending is though you really have no concept of what you call money. Maybe this would help.. its all Fact
Wall Street is all of your banks investing your money into markets, business,.. it basically the banks casino.
Main Street and the working class of people, whose buying cars, houses, expendable toy like income, that's an indicator and you won't hear about that on reg news or media.
You want a reality check? 52.1% of kids live in households getting "Means-tested Government assistance" So out of some 73 million people with child(ren) under 18, more than HALF are on State/Federal Aid (as of Aug 22, 2018 that report came out.
- add in another 1.56 million homeless people still
- Defined by Pew as those earning 67% to 200% of the median income — $39,560 to $118,080 in 2016
- A new survey by Northwestern Mutual found that 70 percent of Americans consider themselves middle class. However a 2015 report from Pew Research Center shows that the middle class has been shrinking over the past four decades and now makes up only 50 percent
So with 329M people - 73M people on state aid - 1.5M homeless / 50% = 127M people supposedly in the middle class and I don't know if I could honestly say that last figure isn't high or inaccurate.
I'm not arguing Trumps efforts or even saying he's doing a bad job. I'm just saying the man isn't the messiah of politics. What I am saying is he like all the others before him and perhaps after him, they aren't all who you think they are when it comes to taking away your rights and selling them back to you as privileges.
Doesnt matter the coverage of MSM, its all the same and this isnt his first stupid thing that he's said or done.
Albeit when he said that. Diane Fienstien prune-like twat got soaking wet for the first time in 55 years!
200 years ago, Trump would have been strung up a tree for treason for saying or imposing such an unconstitutional and controversial statement.

Re: The cause of many deaths
And to get back on topic...
https://nvcopblock.org/127161/in-nev...is-the-police/
In Nevada, the Most Distinctive Cause of Death is the Police.....
This week, the Las Vegas Review Journal wrote about a new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which outlined the “ most distinctive” cause of death for each of the 50 states. Something that’s not a giant shock to anyone living in Las Vegas and especially those who have watched and dealt with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (and other Las Vegas area police departments) over the years, was that “run ins with police” was declared the most distinctive cause of death for those living in Nevada. (I’ll let you make that joke about the police being officially classified as a disease.)
From the LVRJ article: " Nevada’s most distinctive cause of death — though not its most frequent — isn’t a disease.
It’s encounters with law enforcement, according to a new state-by-state report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Encounters with law enforcement in this case does not include executions.
The study maps out how geography factors into the prevalence of rare killers. For 22 states, the total number of these types of deaths was under 100.
The Silver State falls into that group, with deaths by so-called legal intervention at 82, a rate 2.8 times the national average, said Francis Boscoe of the New York State Cancer Registry and the lead researcher in the study.
Researchers couldn’t identify a clear reason why death by legal intervention garnered the most distinction in Nevada as well as New Mexico and Oregon."
Take that LAPD & NYPD !!

The moral of the story is DON'T MESS WITH THE POLICE IN NEVADA. Yes Sir, No Sir. Keep your hands in sight, no sudden moves. Speak respectfully. Sounds like good advice my grandma would have given me. Wait, she did give that advice to me!

Well in some small towns and cities in certain places of the country, that will often get you a decent step farther in some cases. Because they most often operate within the law. In the bigger towns, "color of Law" is the king of revenue generation and they aim to get every penny they can even if trampling your rights isnt violation enough, they will honestly escalate things to lethal force and kill you over a license plate bulb being out if so deemed.
Whereas I may speak out of respect, that starts to wear off the farther they tend to go. Then the accountability and liability clock get brought in, especially when you not only know your rights and when they're being violated in an unconstitutional manner AND you know the law. Not exactly a law guru but I've done pretty well keeping my what.. now 5 yrs+ now unregistered vehicle(s) on the public roads still.
(oh Jeff, this outta get this post going.. watch all the Statists come out of the woodwork in a frenzy... lol)

Re: The cause of many deaths
The sad thing is that they don't know they are statists. Tips on how to get away with 5 years on the road unregistered? Gotta have a plate where I live. Been pulled over just for expired tabs, so how do you do it?
