2019 Ranger configurator
Did anyone else get a chance to see the 2019 Ranger configurator that Ford accidently had live for a few hours yesterday?
I found it about a 1/2 hour before Ford found their mistake and hid the webpage, but I had a chance to play with it a bit. I was happy to finally get an idea what the 2wd extended cab would look like. (see attached)
I was playing with options so the prices on the screen shots aren't typical, and I wish I would have thought to save a rear 3/4 view, but in general I like it. I wish it was a little more like the old Ranger and less like a Honda Ridgeline though...

Re: 2019 Ranger configurator
They start a lot lower than that, there are a bunch of options on that one.

It looks like a 1997-2003 F150.

I'm thinking 22,000? I didn't pay enough attention to the numbers assuming I could go back and check.

The Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon extended cabs are quite pricey, so Ford will be in $25,000+ neighborhood.

Re: 2019 Ranger configurator
I can get a WRX premium for that price. No way I'd spend that much on a truck.

Re: 2019 Ranger configurator
Was there a regular cab option? I've been disappointed with the medium truck lineup in the USA not offering a cheap work truck option, maybe Ford will buck this trend.

Re: 2019 Ranger configurator
Well I agree that a regular cab looks much better but someone like me with long legs and arms, an extended cab is much more comfortable...plus it makes room for a big sub box

Re: 2019 Ranger configurator
I don't get the high priced models. The thing is a truck. It hauls stuff and gets dirty inside and out. Seats get ripped, headliners poked and punctured. I know most of my friends that have the pricey trucks don't do truck stuff with them outside of hauling 2x4's or a hot water heater from Home Depot to their house, but dang the truck sure looks good sitting in the driveway!
The market has left me behind, I guess. Will keep the ol' Ranger as long as I can as it seems there is not enough money in a basic truck to interest the manufacturers.

I wash my trucks every 3 months whether they need it or not.
I would never allow the seats or headliner to be damaged.
I don't allow eating, drinking, smoking or farting in my pickups.
My neighbor paid $52,000 for his 2017 F150 crew cab and he is out there often wiping it down.
I agree that it is a truck but keeping it in good shape isn't too difficult.

Re: 2019 Ranger configurator
Nope, no std cab anymore.. XL, XLT, and a new Lariat version exist only. RWD and 4WD as a supposedly $4k option.. about $2k between variants
You can forget manual trans, and we as per usual.. Ford is gonna fuck us on a Diesel option. AGAIN ! [I swear to God some days I wonder why a group of us all don't drive to fuckin Dearborn and drive right through the front door].
Starting prices "allegedly" leaked on this configuration page [Ford said it was a mis-click from someone, and took it down] lists the XL at $24k starting price and top of the line everything goes beyond $38k and change. The Ranger and the Toyota Hilux (NOT quite the same as our Tacoma here in the States) are the two rival trucks in Australia and S. Africa among a few other countries and compete against each other on everything from options to price. WE, just don't get anything worthwhile because bean counters say so.
I may be off on a few things but here's a follow up link as a source:
