Default Softer Springs?

My 98 Ranger has rear springs that are two main leafs and, what I call an over load spring. --My 2011 Ranger has three leafs and an over load leaf. I think the extra leaf was added in 2004, but I'm not sure on that. Any way the 2011 truck rides really rough; much rougher than the 98. Does any one know if I can have one of the leafs removed from the 2011 truck? Would that work OK to make a softer ride? BTW, I replaced all four shocks but no help there. --Thanks!

Shocks won't help with the ride, their job is to stop the suspension oscillation when you hit a bump. You can look at the door tag and see what springs each truck has. That will certainly affect ride.

What kind of shocks did you replace them with? And yes the shocks will absolutely make a difference on ride quality.

^^^ This and Yes, you could pull the AAL out, that will help if the beds always empty...
