Default upper control arm...

Ok jacked up my 2010 2.3 coil spring reg can ranger using a jack to check ball joints.

Lower and bottoms are shot ON MY 2" LIFTED RANGER...

Do moog upper control arms have same exact or very close specs wise to the original motorcraft ones? Im considering moog ones cuse they come with new pinch bolts. Also how tight do i tighten the upper control arms? Should i bother buying a torque wrench. My common sense says not to tighten the uppet arm nuts with a breaker bar simply with a standard length ratchet nothing to crazy.... AND STOP WHEN YOU FEEL THAT SPOT TO STOP.

I want the OEM MOTORCRAFT ARMS BECAUSE ive gone with them for 8 years and 247 thousand miles LATER so i know they can TAKE IT LIKE A MAN.

WHERE CAN I BUY NEW OEM FORD SPINDLE TO UPPER ARM PINCH BOLT?? JUST IN CASE IT KRAPSS OUT WHEN I MALLET IT OUT?

----------

Also will i be able to separate stock spindle from lower ball joint taper by simply smaking the crap out of it with a hammer?

A stupid question...

When tightening the lower bajoint nut it has to have the tie rod attached right so it dont move.

Does that stress out the tie rod or steering rack more then daily driving and pot holes?

Since you didn't even know how to use the day/night switch on a rear view mirror......it would be a good idea to have this done by a pro.

The Moog a-arm should be very close to OEM sizes. Close enough that you can drive it a couple days before getting an alignment but I recommend getting one within a week.

Not sure on the torque specs on the bolts. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

The upper balljoint pinch bolt I have reused. It has a crush nut and isn't supposed to be reused so get a new one. Don't "mallet it out." It'll come out the normal way.

As for getting the spindle off the bottom ball joint, I loosen the nut 2-3 turns and hit the spindle on the round part around the balljoint with a ballpeen hammer. If you aren't sure exactly where or how hard (it requires some precision) please use a balljoint fork. You can rent them from the local auto parts store usually for free.

When tightening it up, it makes it easier to have the tie rod connected and should't hurt the rack or ends. I usually hold the spindle also so that it doesn't turn the steering.

Don't forget to put new cotter pins in everywhere and get an alignment asap.

Side note, with 2 inch longer coils, not sure if you can get the camber where it is supposed to be. Be a good time to put it back to stock ride height. Much safer!

It might ride fine but it's not safe. IMO lifting or lowering should be illegal because it is so easy to mess up the geometry and cause unexpected handling issues especially at higher speeds. I have seen many jacked up trucks and SUV's almost eat the guardrail after hitting a small bump on the interstate.

Best oem part pricez from white bear lake ford. Best prices.

Ordered 2 upper oem arms 1 lower bj 2 new pinch bolts 2 new nuts. 4 quarts of oil and one oil filter.

Best prices hands down for oem prices.

----------

The upper balljoint angle is not that bad with 2 inch coils.

I have seen brand new f150s with aftermarket coilovers like really cranked for 3.5inch lift and the poor upper balljoint is maxed out. No down travel whatsoever. Thatz unsafe because tbat upper bj can give at the wrong moment.

I'm not talking about the angle of the balljoint. There may not be enough adjustment in the arms on the frame to get the camber at the proper angle.

Do you have the adjustable camber/cam bolt kit installed in your upper control arms to allow for adjustment?.

As far as ive looked it has a bolt and one square plate. I dont mind a little inner tire wear

----------

New oem balljoints should add a little more positive camber. And besides the inner tire wear is just a little.

New. Stock f150s come with ridiculous low hanging plastic piece under front bumoer.

Heck my new corolla SE front bumper probably sits higher than an F150. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP THEIR GAME!!!
