Hi, new to forum and will greatly appreciate any realistic assistance and experience.
My 1999 Ranger 5sp transmission is in need of a rebuild therefore, I am interested in reasonable options for a full engine/tranny swap out.

The 2.5L only has 100k miles and runs good however, is greatly underpowered. My wish is for a relatively easy swap for another combo 5spd with 3.0 or 4.0L
This truck has sentimental value to me as it was one of my father's vehicles upon his passing years ago.

What have you guys done?
Cost/time investment?

I'm not looking for a screamer; I just want more power without foregoing drivability and dependability.
