Default 460 swap?

Okay, first off I know that a swap of any kind is going to be difficult and probably expensive. If it wasn't, everyone would be doing it. Now, I know the 5.0 is a popular swap and will fit, but why not go balls to the wall and put in a 460 with a 4 speed? They're cheaper to find in old trucks, can make good go and train-pulling torque. I know I'd have to probably box the frame to keep it from twisting, bigger rear end, and all the basic engine swap stuff ie motor mounts, donor vehicle, time and money. Is this even possible or is the 460 just too big? I'd preferable like input from people who know about the 460 and engine swapping instead of someone who just thinks "460 in a ranger? That's stupid so I'm going to say no". Reason I'm asking, is eventually I'm going to get another truck and this will turn into a drag truck after I've had my fun with autocross. Thanks

I think I've seen someone do a 460, but it definitely required a lot of Custom Fabrication up front. Do it, we'll watch

You can fit anything in anything if you have enough time and money.

If you are going to cram something huge in there you can probably net more ponies per buck from a 4.6L than a 460CI and have an equally difficult time installing it

There's no replacement for displacement. I'm thinking BIG power, striker kit, possibly turbo (idk if I want to keep it n/a). I've read up on the 5.0 and the 4.6 and if I was going to do either it would be the 5.0. Lost of aftermarket support, and you can easily get power from it. The reason I want a 460 is eventually I'll make it a drag truck, possibly a stupidly overpowered street truck. But, that's plans for the future. First things first, I've gotta find a 460 that doesn't have a million and one miles, with a 4 speed. I think they even came with 5 speeds, but we'll see. None of this will be happening soon, but eventually. Y'all may be waiting around for a while lol

After continued research, someone put a 460 in there s (it's a 92 so idk if the engine bay dimensions are the same, will be back with more info) but he had to do some frame modification, which leads me to want to just fab a new frame, or box the current one with a nice rollcage

Okay, here's the plan:

1) Do the 5.0 swap, t56 6speed. See how I like it, mod it. If I don't like it then

2) do the 460 swap, manual trans. If I don't like it, and don't like the 5.0, sell it

I know I know I'm indecisive as shit, and asking a lot of questions. Would the 2.3l turbo out of the new mustang bolt right up? I figured they would since they're probably the same thing more or less

The new 2.3l ecoboost

I love the ____________engine swap threads! 2.7/3.5L ecocboost, 351, 4.9 inline 6, 429, 428, 390, and the countless diesel swap threads. I guess dreamers have every right to plan out what they are never going to do. LOL

I don't know about never, but eventually I will. As the situation sits, I'm looking for totalled vehicles with good engines in my price range. Also, as soon as I sort out my finances and feel good about spending a shit load of money on this, then this "dream" will not just be a dream. It could be 5 days or 5 years, idk.

A couple different pics come up when you google search it. It will fit but probably requires a lot of firewall work and you will most likely loose a/c and maybe even heat. It all depends on which body style you pick.
