Default Painting Cost

About how much would it cost to have my trucks paint redone the RIGHT way? Sanded down, re primed, sprayed everything? Staying with the factory Vista Blue on my ranger. Thanks

The cost of painting the whole truck, including minor body work and proper prep work should be $1500-$2000....maybe more.
That's the cost by a professional shop and not paint can bubba.

It really depends on a lot of things. Good materials are expensive as are good shops.

I think $2500 is going to be on the low end and I would expect $4000 to $5000 for a good job with good materials. YMMV.

To save some money, and to get a better job, pull every piece of trim yourself.

Of course, we did my son's F-150 in the driveway with Rustoleum for about $40.

Alright, thanks. Yeah, someone said around 1500 since it's only a single cab and a short bed. The engine bay is fine, but the doors and some inside the cab there s small spots of semi minor rust and I have hail damage on the roof and hood, and bed (I'm buying a new hood and looking for a new bed) SO I was thinking it was probably going to be around 5000. And yeah I'm going to want some really good paint and really good work. That's a good tip to take all my own trim off, and since I'm there I might as well strip the inside as well. Thanks guys

$2500 low end to paint a regular cab Ranger is high....high....high end.
If a body shop told me $4500-$5000 then I would assume they just didn't want to do the job, or they were hitting the Jim Beam bottle awfully hard.

A friend of mine is retired from the body biz and he agrees that 5k is the start point for a pro level repaint. High quality work and materials is expensive. Of course his biz was all top end stuff, BMW, Mercedes, Caddy, etc. Some classic restorations included so maybe his perspective is slightly skewed.
