So you have fire, air, and fuel and a No start condition?
Your neutral safety switch is more of a safety device than anti-theft function. Good news is you can run a wire in on the back side of the safety switch or jump it and that's now a NON issue.
Can you manually get the injectors to fire? Is this a problem that just occurred or was there work dont to the truck and we're trouble shooting an issue based upon that?

I changed the safety switch and no go I bought the truck from a friend it was sitting for a couple years and he said one day it just shut off and he couldn’t get it to start back up . I have 12 volts to the red wires on the injectors can I just ground the other side to see if it will turn on ?

Re: 2002 ranger no start
Lets start here.
There are several factors that can cause non-communications. Some of the most common causes are:
o Damaged Data Link Connector (DLC): The data link connector (DLC) is damaged or has been tampered with and the connection to the on-board diagnostic (OBD) computer is not possible. For example, the DLC may be broken or melted, the DLC is used to power up an accessory, or something is plugged into the DLC.
o Blown Fuse: If the vehicle fails to communicate, check the fuses for the cigarette lighter. On most vehicle makes and models, the system on the vehicle that communicates with the test equipment gets its power from the same circuit as the cigarette lighter. If the cigarette lighter fuse is burned out, the vehicle will not communicate with the test equipment during the OBD inspection. The fuse is faulty if it is dark inside like the inside of a blown light bulb or if the electrical wires within the fuse are burnt apart and not connected.
o Improperly Installed Aftermarket Systems: Some installers of aftermarket systems, such as radios, security systems, navigation systems, etc. are tapping into the wiring harness of the DLC, or OBD port to power the radio or other aftermarket devices. This is considered tampering and may cause the vehicle to be unable to establish communication with the test equipment during the OBD inspection..

. It has a stock radio and the DLC looks good checked the cigerate lighter fuse that was ok switched with a new one anyways. How can I troubleshoot the ecm ? I am thinking it is bad . OBD. Gets power

Re: 2002 ranger no start
Sadly that will be the most tedious task.
Leave the Innova attached to the connector port, set it up in a way where you can see it through the windshield whilst under the hood.
From there you're going to disconnect and connect each and every engine sensor one at a time; even the purge canister, check the Innova unit and see which sensor is faulting the ECM/PGM. That sensor that allows you to connect to the vehicle will definitely need to be replacing among any others that the system will find issues with.
I was hoping it was the 12v power fuse... [sigh]

Re: 2002 ranger no start
Update So check this out I forgot to turn the ign off Monday night (battery completely dead ) so when I got home from work I put a charger on it well I went to try and start it guess what it fired right up . So I take it for a drive around the block and everything works motor runs perfect for a Ford so I park it and go to start it back up and the same shit nothing lol
----------
Oooooya 2 things I did notice when the truck will not start the fuel pump keeps running and the theft light goes out when I turn the ignition on . When it did start the fuel pump turned off after about 3-4 seconds and the theft light came on and stayed solid and no check engine light

Re: 2002 ranger no start
You may find the problem coming back in a few days.., ONLY because you may have had a voltage issue in the battery being rundown. Maybe I'll be wrong (hopefully) and you solved your issue(s).
