Default Is it worth fixing???

My daughter bought me a 94 STX 5-speed/4.0, 180k miles. She was so happy when she gave it to me. And I've enjoyed driving it. She is as ugly as she can be. I'll post some pictures later.

Any way, I have to replace the clutch on it and I keep getting asked if it's worth fixing. I'm like really? 300ish to get it running again and you ask if it's worth fixing. Have you priced new trucks? LOL

I tell them "It is to me!"

Just venting.

James

Not the nicest thing you can say about your kids, but I guess the truth is the truth.

I don't think it looks as bad as my '94 XLT

Heck yes! Fix it, especially if you can do it yourself!

It's just a clutch and a fuel neck. Although the fuel neck does look like a bit of a pain.

Exactly how I got my Ranger in December. The owner didn't want to keep fixing it. New clutch, slave and master cylinder and front wheel bearings and the thing is mechanically 100% solid. Got a fair price, too, and a whole lot less than a 2 or 3 year old truck or a new one.

I refuse to pay what they want for new. And in Wyoming used trucks are gold

From what I can tell we have to lift the bed, is that what you are getting?

I remove the driver side bolts, loosen the passenger side, unhook the rear lights and top of the filler neck. I use one of the ratcheting load bars under the fender to raise the driver side of the bed enough to get the hose clamps off and on. It's really pretty simple. I can replace a filler neck in about 15 minutes.

Yeah either lift the bed or drop the tank, which is what I'm going to try and do,I figure that would be easier.
