Default Truck stuttering

Hi,
I was looking to see if anyone has had the same issue and has a solution to my problem.

I have a 02 ford ranger edge plus, with a 3.0 v6 auto trans.

When I’m going up a hill while accelerating it stutters and shaking around as if you are going over a hell of a lot of bumps it also sometimes does this under acceleration on flat roads.

Any information and/or solutions would be appreciated

Thanks,
Bowden

The coil pack it’s self does not look to old it’s a motorcraft, I’ll get that changed some time soon with another motorcraft part, thanks for your input

Not to scare you but those could be im saying could be symptons of a head gasket/cracked head problem. How does the oil cap look? You losing coolant?

My 2010 ranger at 200k miles was having those symptons when boom white smoke and misfiring.

It had a cracked head and an engine rebuilder shop fixed it. 2 years later after it was fixed it wants more and more.

Also is there any specific way to check if the head gasket is going/gone?

same truck. I had a very similar sounding problem. Everything was fine with normal driving but when I had to get on the gas it would buck. I changed the Camshaft Synchronizer and Sensor. It wasn't giving me the usual squeal sound when it goes bad but that fixed it.

Yeah I’m booked in to get that changed on Thursday if the price is right if not I’ll do it myself , I’ve got the part and alignment tool but don’t want to mess with it as I ain’t ever changed one before
