does anyone know if ford made a front wheel drive ranger? not 4x4 just fwd thanks

All North American Ranger pickups were definitely either RWD or 4WD.

Not sure but I doubt that any of the other Ranger pickup variants around the world were ever available as FWD.

ok i was wondering because a local dealership has one on craigs list as a fwd truck and i questioned him and he got rude and said they made thousands of them and he had one. so i figured if anyone knew the ranger forum would. i guess before i get after him with this information i will wait and see if someone else shows up here and says yet they did. i ran the vin and the vin said rwd but he insisted it was fwd. my guess he has no clue. thanks a bunch for the reply

thanks i was thinking the same thing. the only thing i can think of is it is a 4x4 and the rear axle was disconnected somehow. outside of that the guy is nuts. just for s&g i was thinking of driving out to that place and getting that salesman to show me that fwd truck and then look nder it ans see the driveshaft and then ask him how he classified it as a fwd truck with a rear axle. anyway thanks for the help.

Rangers are only FWD if you normally drive them in reverse. The salesman should be deported.

Ditto, then we should all start calling up that dealership to inquire of FWD Ford Rangers.. Slippery boat ramps these days demands a FWD vs stupid RWD when the tires are in the water...!! [rolleyes] lol

I wonder if we could get that guy fired if not ridiculed at a few hundred phone calls from all over about the rare Unicorn Ranger known as the FWD Ranger. MAYBE just maybe they have even the more elusive twin engine front and rear engine in the bed 4WD model?? Ya think it exists?

ok here is the craigs listing. he said i am a ford dealer. check it out. i wanted to make sure he was clear on it being it is a 25 mile drive from my place to that dealer. just to find out it is a rwd truck.


it is a 2wd rear wheel drive truck. fordranger forum told me they never made a fwd truck. thanks
