Default Thinking about buying this. Too many miles?

I'm thinking about ditching my 2001 3.0 for something a little newer, and with a bit more Horsepower. I've found some candidates in Virginia, but I don't feel like going through the hassle of having the truck re-inspected in MD, and going through our local Glen Burnie MVA is a nightmare. Found this one a few miles away from me but I'm a bit worried about it already having 120k on the clock.

My 01 has about 207k on her, so I'm no stranger to a higher mileage vehicle, but I'm also no stranger to my Ford treating me like Peg does Al Bundy in the opening credits and I'd like to be done with all that.

Anyway, here's the listing:

personally, stick with the horse you know unless its a great deal. mileage doesn't mean to muck if its been well maintained. But go take a look at it and see if its something you can't live without. Having gone between my 02 and a 2008 pretty regularly though, the interior feels totally different- in ways I personally don't care for

Went and took a look at it today. The truck is in really good condition. No rust, all the bushings look damn near brand new, all other suspension parts look really good, tires look really good, engine is dead quiet (except for the usual tap from our crappy gas), power steering pump is whisper quiet, no dents, very few scratches, engine has no leaks, transmission shifts well and has no leaks. The fluids look really good, there is no pudding on the oil cap and no shmootz on the radiator cap, the transmission fluid doesn't smell burnt and is a cherry red. The truck also has an over the rail spray-in bedliner and locking hard cover.

All and all I'm really impressed with it and if all goes well I think I'm going to get it. I'm going to take my uncle, who's a mechanic, to give it a once over and give them a price that I'm willing to pay, so we'll see. Fingers crossed.

Get a Carfax and knock some off the price those are the lower end steel wheels and it looks like a 2 door. But otherwise Id say its a good looking truck

The seats in 2006+ Rangers are quite firm. The wheels are not lower line, they are the premium chrome clad steel wheels.

Carfax Recommends around $9600. I doubt I'll get him that low with my credit, but I'm shooting for $10,000. It is a 2-door, thought it was a 4 door when I looked at the listing though.

Thanks man, I think it's pretty clean too.
