Default E Brake Help

Hello Everyone,

I just picked up a 2000 Ranger and the emergency brake doesn’t work. When I depress the pedal, it doesn’t move all that much.

Here is a pic of what the cable bracket looks like,I feel something is missing.

Any help is greatly appreciated.C7C81C30-8236-4FCB-99A9-E57AD2A5DBFC.jpg

The cable is probably seized. Looks fine in the picture but that doesn’t mean it’s good. Also remove the drums and check the hardware. Make sure everything is working properly. The cable is supposed to look that way, it’s the pain in the ass 3 piece Y shaped cable.

He is correct, I had a similar issue with my 04 ranger, a replacement of drum hardware corrected my issue though
