IfI thought it was an interesting decision for ford to only offer it in an automatic and no option for a manual transmission.

Re: 2019 ranger info from motor trend
Also for now only 2.3L Ecoboost engine available. Not a fan of a 10 speed automatic transmission too much to go wrong. Hopefully more drivetrain options will be added.

I'm going to the Detroit Auto Show today (industry days) and will be checking it out!

Re: 2019 ranger info from motor trend
Auto only is absolutely no surprise. If anyone's surprised by that, you haven't been paying attention to the automotive industry lol.
Only one engine is interesting, but I'm going to guess that's a first year thing. Likely to have another option in the second year, possibly diesel.
But I mean the 2.3 is going to be a very nice engine in this truck with the 10 speed. Way more power than the old 4.0 V6 Rangers had. It's not gonna be a slouch.

True because the mustang with the same motor is cranking out 310hp. I plan on waiting before I consider buying on, allegedly a Raptor Ranger is supposed to be coming along

It's likely going to be the version from the explorer, 280 HP, 310 TQ.

Re: 2019 ranger info from motor trend
Still respectable. I probably would get one custom built because I don’t want lane maintain assist, collision avoidance, blind spot assistance, 4G with Alexa I hate all that shit, might just supercharge my ‘11 and call it a day

I think his point would be your default pic would result in a S/C sitting on the driveway in front of your studious and contemporary looking garage door defunct of course as to any Ranger to be had still.. lol
