Mud Flaps for 2011 Ford Ranger ????
My 2011 XLT, extended cab, 2 door, Ranger has black plastic pieces at the bottom of the fenders, in back of the front tires and in back of the rear tires....I do not know what they are called but they function as a protection from the mud thrown off the road, but they don't do a very good job. So, I want to go with regular molded mud flaps if they are available. So, are they available or do I have to remove the plastic pieces first or what ??
Thanks http://i1379.photobucket.com

Mud Flaps for 2011 Ford Ranger ????
Buy front and rear mud flaps and brackets for a 2005 Ranger the holes to bolt everything in are still there on a 2011. It’s what I did to mine, plus you must remove those pieces of plastic first they are called stone cuffs, otherwise the mud flaps won’t fit. Not the greatest picture but that is how it came out.

Re: Mud Flaps for 2011 Ford Ranger ????
So, those plastic pieces (stone guards/cuffs) that have to be removed...Looks like they have glue or glue strips as well as plastic plugs..I sure do not want to pull paint off removing them..any suggestions? Maybe a heat gun to soften the glue some.?? And when you say a "2005" set, I am having trouble finding exactally that...Also I am now in belief that I will have to buy some "brackets" to make them work..Is that for sure..? Wish I had a stock number of what I exactly need...

Re: Mud Flaps for 2011 Ford Ranger ????
Like I said use 2005 Ranger to search for the brackets and mudflaps. My advice is go on the fordparts.com website to get the part numbers. 3M adhesive remover will work for the stonecuffs also don’t worry about the paint it’s heavy and textured meant to resist chipping.

The reason I picked the 2005 Ranger is it is the last year that had mudflaps in the front

I didn't remove the "cuffs" when I added Mudflaps to my '11 Extended Cab, just installed the Flaps over them. I do remember that the ones on the Rear of my truck were bought new but the Fronts and hardware I bought used off of eBay.
So, it can be done, My suggestion, go to eBay, "Search" under 'Ford Ranger Mudflaps' and the find some pictured exactly like mine or the other poster's and check to see if they have the Mounting Hardware available with them. Good Hunting!

Re: Mud Flaps for 2011 Ford Ranger ????
Take the stone cuffs off they won’t fit right if you leave them on, look at the screw he jammed through the side of the mudflap in the front, don’t know about you but not a fan of that type of rigging. If you remove the stone cuff it reveals a place for a plastic pushpin to help secure the mudflap.

Re: Mud Flaps for 2011 Ford Ranger ????
I have learned a lot about mud flaps and splash guards from this thread..I visited a salvage yard yesterday to see about getting a set of inner splash guards to go between the rear Ford mudflap and the top of the fender well. My truck didn't have them for some reason and don't think it ever did. Anyway, I bought a set for $5 and looked over about 5 ford rangers. ALL of the them had identical mud flaps set ups like I just bought and installed.
they ranged from 98's to 04's. Seems I could have bought the pencil brackets, splash guards and actual mud flaps for about $30.00 total from them and they would take them off for me. I paid over $85.00 for these same parts getting the best deals I could find on the net. Of course I would have had to buy new fasteners which would have been about another $15. or so...screws, plugs, etc...Anyway, i am checking to see if I can cut/modify the removed oem stone guard strips off and reinstall them with new 3M tape..next to my new flaps...
Thanks for all the input..

Re: Mud Flaps for 2011 Ford Ranger ????
Use 3M adhesive remover and your hands the stone cuffs will come off. However with the mud flaps you don’t need the stone cuffs the but it’s your truck so whatever you want to do is up to you.
