We'll just add that to the list of nutty claims on Ford Ranger Forum.

Correct. When I installed the stainless steel brake lines the result was a firmer brake pedal that didn't need to be depressed as much for the same braking power. There was less fade/bleed off under heavy braking and my stopping distance went down. Granted the car is an '89 model car that had factory rubber brake lines - I'm sure they were worn out and softened with age. But yes, It did make a difference, believe it or not.
Granted, the Ranger is significantly newer, much less worn out, and weighs roughly twice what my car does. Therefore I realistically don't expect as dramatic of a change, but I figured there would still be a marginal difference. If nothing else, I figured the SS lines would hold up better long term, and as I plan to have the Ranger a long time figured it might be good insurance down the road.
Ordinary Biker, I was referring to the "rubber" flex lines that go from the hard lines to the calipers. The idea is to replace them with lines that are wrapped in stainless steel to a) protect the flexible lines and b) prevent them from flexing under pressure resulting in a better braking and firmer pedal feel.
