Default Backup light switch

My backup lamps sometimes work and sometimes don't. I had the backup lamp switch replaced two years ago which I believe is on the (manual) transmission.

Not sure if it's related to my cruise control which doesn't work anymore.

Any ideas?

Thank god for Autistic zone lifetime warranties..

And although one would think that in a manual trans if you threw it into reverse the Cruise control would disengage, most likely unrelated. I did have a buddy that emailed Subaru asking why his Cruise control didn't/wouldn't engage at 147 MPH in his WRK STI, never got an answer tho I don't think, not even a chuckle from it.

All I got for the moment.

I'll try replacing with OEM instead of parts store.

I didn't try going in reverse with the cruise control on. Just both starting having issues around the same time frame.

Well, never tried using cruise control in reverse... BUT, in Drive (moving forward), cruise won't engage until 40 MPH. Assuming cruise WILL function in reverse, you better be damn good a driving backward! LOL

As for the reverse lights and cruise being related... they probably share some circuitry somewhere.
