Default Cruise control doesn't work

The light will activate on the dash when I set the speed I want but the truck will just slow down (to 0 if I let it).

The speedometer works fine. Before my muffler hit the shock and ebrake cable, it worked fine. I'm guessing the VSS is fine because the speedometer works. Not sure what else to look at? I got the muffler and shock repaired and the truck passed state inspection. The ebrake cable got some of the rubber housing cracked but it works fine once they adjusted it.

All three brake lights work. The top middle one doesn't work as a taillight. Not sure if that's supposed to be on when my lights are on, but it's not. It only goes on if I hit the brake.

Is the servo still properly connected to the throttle body?

Where specifically is it located and what should I be looking for?

There are 2 cables going to your throttle body. The one that comes from the left (if looking under the hood toward the truck) is the cruise control cable.

There is a little metal clip that keeps it in position going into a bracket to the left of the throttle body (again left being looking under the hood)

That clip is easily lost. If someone before you took the cable out for any reason they might have lost the clip and crammed a toothpick or something in there to try to hold it which works temporarily but shakes loose.

Grab hold of the cable and try to move it forward and backward. If it moves freely then that is the problem. It is held in position by that clip.

Long shot but it happened to me.

I'll take a look. It worked fine up until I let the truck sit for 3 months.

I looked but have no clue what I'm looking for. Everything seems hooked up.

The truck just passed inspection the other day but I notice my reverse lights aren't working. I had something small that could fit in ones hand replaced a few years ago (I think near the transmission) that fixed the reverse lights when they didn't work then. What's the part called and could it be contributing to my cruise control issue?

I found the part on Amazon. What tool do I need to remove it?
