Default No power to the entire truck

Hey folks!
Iím dealing with a 1991 ranger 3.0 that had been jump started by the original owner, however he crossed the positive and negative cables on the vehicle that was supplying the jump. Blue smoke came up and the truck never saw power again. Iím trying to get this thing running. I have replaced the alternater, battery, and starter solenoid. No power at all to the truck.
Anyone have any ideas? My thoughts are potentially battery cables, distributor, ignition coil, and or many many fuses & relays. Any help as to where to start or a list of possibilities would be welcomed! I appreciate any help while I try to resurrect this thing!

The ground wire is likely burnt up. Measure resistance from the negative batter terminal to the chassis. It should be less than 1 ohm. Not sure if a 1991 ranger has fusible links but if they do I would check that next.

@Cobraman - thanks man. Iíll check it out and report back with my results. Any other ideas past that? Someone mentioned a fusible link off the alternator as well. Thoughts?

First, get your hands on the schematics for the vehicle. Then, using the schematics and a DMM, start at the battery, checking for continuity in each battery cable. Then the (assumed to be there) wire between the ground cable end at the battery and the chassis. Then, and using the schematics, move on along the positive side and off the battery to the next wiring segment. There should be fuseable links along the way and normally these will be noted on the schematics. Using the schematics and the DMM, you can literally walk your way through the wiring until you find the break, at which time you can see what it'll take to fix that.
