New Heater Core
guess what I did this weekend. I'll give you hint: I had to by-pass it a couple of weeks ago, and now cool weather is on the way! Not too bad of a job, I could do it again in about half the time. 2006, 4x4, auto, with a 4.0

Re: New Heater Core
About how long did that job take, and do you have AC? Just curious...

Re: New Heater Core
I did that on my old ZJ a few years back, wasn't fun.
How long did it take you? I'm surprised that your 06 was already leaking.

Re: New Heater Core
I'm surprised it was leaking already, too! The old Antifreeze looked
really bad, I'm guessing that contributed. It took about 6 hours to change it out and another 2 hours to flush the cooling system several times and refill with new antifreeze. There was a lot of rust and crud I had to flush out. I do have AC. I think I could do it again in about half the time, I pulled the gauges, AC controls, and radio and did not have to, I could have saved an hour there

Re: New Heater Core
Thanks! I was curious how long it would take, especially with the AC complicating things.

It's not that bad. Do remove your passenger wheel well and do remove your passenger airbag. It makes it easier to maneuver the dash. Don't discharged your AC system, there is no reason to. There is plenty of room if you unbolt the evaporator box and move it forward.
