Haha, vintage
I'm usually intrigued by the names they choose, however they do fit if you think about it, including gusset.

Ya, that's just it, us olde guys have to learn the newspeak. Damn, is it that bad in England? I don't remember.

That must be olde English, this thing isn't either. It's a bracket, plain and simple.
I'm even finding sometimes, that words I've spelled one way for years, is no longer correct, let alone some of the grammar I hear, and see written. I'm no expert either, but geez.:

Re: Bed underside photos
See second definition, last line.
Ugh, don't get me started on people saying things like, "it is started" - Instead of "it has started"
Thing is, i believe they're copying what they're hearing, its' very common for someone to soften the "has" to the point where the predominant part is just the S, but when you start hearing people pronouncing it as "is" instead of "has" - they've clearly forgotten, learned incorrect English.
Oh, recent phenomenon, using the (not) word, "acrossed"

Re: Bed underside photos
Picked up a stepside bed the other day. Got it off the 150 today and did some rough wire brushing by hand, and will be power washing it in the next couple days.
I need to rebuild the front and second crossmembers, no big deal, just takes some time.
Plan on using a rust converter and spraying a heavy coat of undercoating.
Also busted all but one of the bedbolts loose on the truck, luckily the one right above the gastank came out pretty easy.

Re: Bed underside photos
Got the bad pieces of crossmembers cut out, wire brushed with my anglegrinder. Then power washed, and hung up to dry. Moved it into the barn to dry, hopefully, Corroseal tomorrow.

Re: Bed underside photos
LOL, oh well, live and learn!
Yes, that's with the rust converter on there. I hope to finish up installing the crossmembers tomorrow, shoot a final coat of undercoating, and flip over.
I'll be downstate Thursday, thru Saturday, so no work on it.
I need to really apply myself next week, and get this knocked out.
