Default Logan03CO's truck. +$13k value

Found this on craigslist while looking for a 4th truck. Pretty funny because I'm pretty sure Logan sold it for $15k on eBay, Sept 2014.

Where'd the extra 13k of value come from with an added 2k miles? lol
https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/ct...196001147.html

I'd buy it, but not for 28k!

At $15k you're basically paying the market value for the truck + the retail cost of the parts he put on. I've never been sure how I feel about that... in some ways, you're getting what you pay for, in other ways it totally goes against the normal dynamics of the used market. I'd probably pay that if I liked everything on the build and intended to be the "last owner".

But $28k? Man... no offense to Logan's build, but at that price you can get way more truck for your money. You could bag a classic, or a custom rubicon wrangler, lockers and all. Or heck, even a custom Tacoma TRD.

Yeah I'd buy it at 15 and probably never sell it, but at the same time id actually drive the damn thing (not daily, but more than 2k in 3yrs).
Wouldn't mind a built rubi at the 28k price point and only a 15 tacoma at newest. Not a fan of the new 3.5 direct injection motor

"Shown by appointment only" That's funny since it's a Ranger and not a 1970 Hemicuda.

With the cheap people today you have to ask twice your realistic price to get a reasonable offer at all.

I am sure he knows the truck will not fetch that amount.

I think most 4x4 ranger owners would give up their truck for a built rubi if they were being 100% honest. That AMC straight 6 has probably the best low-end torque of any production off-road vehicle.

That said, for a truck with goodyear wrangler 31's, open diffs, 3.73 gearing, and no lift, it went everywhere my buddy's jalapeno-green lifted truck went with it's 33's, 4.10 gears and LSD diffs. I was surprised with how well it did.

I would love to see it on fire.

It's just a Ranger that somebody was dumb enough to pour a shit ton of money into. Never understood why people worshipped this truck.

Nope. I own what I do because I picked it, I have zero interest in owning a Jeep. Otherwise I would own a jeep.

Custom Rangers are worth something to the original owners, but most people wouldn't want someone else's projects.

To each his own, but I'll admit I don't really get it either. I love the ranger, it's a great rugged small truck that's perfect for off road. But if I had a choice of long term "keeper" project truck to pour money into, it'd be a 70's or 80's F150.

I said most owners, not all.
