For engines I would guess a detuned Ecoboost 2.7 or maybe an Ecoboost 2.3.

Guess I may as well post this... Saw this Ranger with manufacturer plates driving by a few days ago. The interior was decked out with a lot of testing equipment (pillar gauges, computer in the center counsel, and at least 5 gauges on top of the dash (one being what looked like a GPS Speedo). I followed it for a while, it is a little taller than the newest F150.

Should also probably mention it was a 6 speed diesel.
