Hi everyone. Got my hands on an 04 4 cyl w auto w 157 k. Had an 03 and a 99 Mazda B 4 cyl. Can't believe how much peppier the 04 is! After I get the salvage thing sorted with the idiot Mo Highway Patrol she will be all legal and such. Question though... Should I mess w tranny fluid change? I don't know if it has been changed or not. My 2 previous rides were manuals and Automatics worry me a bit. Hopefully the the automatics in these are bulletproof!

There's a thread on here "how many mikes does your ranger have" or something to that thought. Look it up and check out the profiles that post the higher miles, it may give you some peace of mone, I had my fluid done as soon as I bought mine, I have a, 04 4.0 v6 though, I believe they're different tranny but I'm not certain, my truck has 190k with minimal hard shifting and whines

Anytime I have bought a used ride I have changed all the fluids. Oil, coolant, tranny & diff. Also changed the plugs & filters.

Never caused any problems & made me feel better.

Still gotta do my coolant, diff and plugs lol so many other things took priority with this poor ole truck.. like the rear end of the frame rotted clean away
