Hello! I'm new to this site and just had an idea for a project. I have a 95 ranger. Pretty sure it's the most base model possible. 3.0L V6, auto, 2wd, extended cab.

Anyway I had an idea to stuff a 4.6L Ford Police Interceptor drivetrain under the hood. I want to put the rear end, trans n engine.

So my question is pretty much does anyone think this is possible? Will the drivetrain and rear axle fit on the frame?

the 4.6 swap has been done and is covered in this and other forums.

Most here prefer the Explorer 5.0 swap as you will not lose the ac and will be pretty much a bolt in swap compared to the 4.6 which is much more involved and expensive

The rear end I would guess it would not be worth the effort.

What rear end do you have in your truck now?

If you have a 8.8 rear you have a good rear end you would just need be concerned about the gear ratio. and if you have a LSD
