Sounds like there are bigger issues here that won't be solved with a back up camera.

Snapped two pictures tonight showing rearview mirror and backup camera. Note that with my camera I also have options to enable the backup lines but I prefer it without the lines showing since they aren't dynamic and change with the steering wheel angle...etc.

I upgraded my head unit to this:
http://amzn.to/2p56qmr
which is pretty awesome, and then I bought this camera:
http://amzn.to/2pmomGe

and really like the end results.

I always thought backup cameras were silly, but I've been doing a lot of towing recently, and it makes it handy to back up to a trailer in one go without help.

I found that by mounting the camera under the tailgate handle and off to one side that not only can you see out past the neighbors place across the street from my garage, but you can see the back bumper, thus making close encounters with other vehicles contact free, plus, you can see your receiver hitch and the ball, thus facilitating and speeding up trailer hookups. It's really inconspicuous and protected under there too, and being up high it stays cleaner, longer on rainy days when the roads are dirty.

Noticed this is 6" screen. Can you post some pictures up on how it fits in the radio bezel?

I started watching youtube videos on this and for $200 it seems like fantastic features.

I actually posted a video on youtube myself:

Skip to 4:50 to get past junk you probably don't care about.

Edit: oh, and ignore the part where the backup camera doesn't work... I plugged it into the wrong port in the back of the head unit... you plug it into the one labeled R/C for... Rear camera.

Nice thanks!

Looks really good honestly. I want to replace the aging Avic d3 that I have had forever. That looks like it does everything 100x better plus is new. And it's cheap at $200.

Any issues with anything not working. I read some reviews on crutchfield saying that the bluetooth disconnects or that connectivity gets lost doing certain things.

The only thing that doesn't work for me is the USB port/cable. it powers the USB drive I plug in, but doesn't play files from it, so I don't know if the drive I have isn't compatible somehow, or if my music files are not compatible? I'm using the cable. I've been meaning to plug a drive directly into it, but since I use blue tooth almost exclusively, it doesn't really matter.

I have had 0 issues with blue tooth with mine, and I've synced windows/android/iphones with no issue.

Recording would be useful for evidence in collisions and asshattery.

there doesn't seem to be to many people out there that use back up cameras on the older rangers . I am thinking of getting one the reason being is that I cannot turn my head around far enough to see out my back window the the side mirror for me isn't that great especially in winter when it is pouring rain and allot of glare from some places that have spot lights when backing up.
