Default replacing ball joints

Getting ready to replace the ball joints on my 02 4x4 and I've been reading that the stock uppers are not replaceable. Do I have to buy a whole new upper assembly?

That is my understanding of it. I've always just bought the arm/balljoint assembly. If nothing else, it's much easier this way.

Not replaceable on the upper. Must buy new uppers. Don't go cheap. I rebuilt my whole front end last summer and that is route I took. Good luck.

^^^^^^ What the man said. Moog is good stuff and will last you a long time. A fella once told me long ago buying top shelf hurts you once, buying bottom shelf hurts you over and over again.
